Gabriela Rey is a Cuban-American actress, writer, and student from Brooklyn, NYC. She is currently pursuing a B.F.A. in Writing for Screen & Television at the University of Southern California’s (USC) School of Cinematic Arts with a minor in Entertainment Industry.

In 2025, Gabriela was selected as a Fellow for the Gotham EDU Film and Media Career Development Program, a prestigious national cohort supporting emerging filmmakers, and was featured in Deadline. She is also a recipient of the USC Pantelion Screenwriting Contest Scholarship, awarded by Eugenio Derbez’s production company to outstanding young Latinx screenwriters. She is also a 2025 Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar and USC Latino Alumni Association Scholar. Recently, she was the Post-Production Assistant for TheyDream, an animated documentary that won the NEXT Special Jury Award for Creative Expression at Sundance.

As an actress, Gabriela has portrayed Safi on Gordita Chronicles (HBO Max) and Cameron in the final season of Blue Bloods (CBS). She is a two-time YoungArts Award Winner in Writing/Play or Script (2023 & 2024), earned a Scholastic Writing Award for her sci-fi short story, and received a Best Performance award at the Los Angeles LGBTQ Film Festival.

Gabriela is a graduate of LaGuardia High School in Manhattan, where she studied vocal music and opera performance. In her free time, she is the President and Founder of Writers Room USC, (@writersroomusc) a club that fosters collaboration between screenwriters at her university.
